Congratulations to K. Trapp of Milwaukee, WI, winner of a copy of Sleeping Naked is Green. Enjoy!
Summer is here and to celebrate, we're giving away eco-friendly oat protein sunscreen from Kiss My Face. To enter, just post your tip below for keeping summer green.
Maybe you've switched to a natural charcoal for your BBQ, or pack a stylish bamboo towel for the beach. We'll draw one tip at random and award the prize at noon EST on August 31st, 2009.

I make compost from kitchen scraps.
I look for ways to reduce my carbon footprint - walk or bike to work, take less plane trips, carpool

I use soapnuts for my laundry and hang to dry..the best part is the soapnuts can be composted! No chemical detergents or unnecessary sudsing agents and I can choose whatever scent I feel like with essential oils. mitchellt at rogers dot com
Keep an reusable water bottle in your car! If you forget yours at home, you won't be forced to buy a bottle of water.
I try to be a good example to my two young children, so I recycle and reuse stuff as much as I can, while engaging my children in the process as I go.
Hanging laundry on the line, love it!
We are more green in the summer because we use less electricity by using all that natural light in our homes instead of flicking the switch. Open the blinds up for some natural light. We also are more environmentally friendly by watering our lawn at night and only once a week. We watch we don't over water by putting out a frisbee on the lawn upside down and when it is full we know we have watered enough.
We use floor fans instead of AC. When we're out - they go off!
